Meet The Coaches
Mary Caprio and Fran Elster met while attending The Institute for Professional Empowerment Coaching (iPEC). During their coursework, they discovered that they had both lost their husbands to lengthy illnesses and they bonded over war stories of being longterm caregivers. This friendship developed further when Fran was assigned to coach Mary. They found that they shared a common purpose in their desire to work with people who have experienced a significant loss. They deeply believe that whether the loss occurs from death or divorce, the grieving and restorative processes are similar and important to the development of the self and any future relationships. Both Mary and Fran are graduates of iPEC, Certified Empowerment Coaches and members of the International Coach Federation. Individually, they both discovered Reiki and became Reiki practitioners.
Meet Mary Caprio: Prior to being a life coach, Mary was a real estate property manager. In addition to iPEC, she attended Rutgers University. Mary was widowed in 2000 after 12 years of marriage. She was also guardian and caregiver to her developmentally disabled brother until his death in 2005. Mary has also been the administrator to an online support group for remarried widows and widowers. Although still an active member, she resigned her administrative position to pursue coaching. Mary has been actively coaching widowed women who are navigating through their grief. She remarried in 2003 and lives in Southern New Jersey with her husband.
Meet Fran Elster: Before becoming a life coach, Fran was a speech therapist and worked in the financial world as a pension investment consultant. Fran attained BA and MS degrees in Speech Pathology and an MBA from Fordham University. She also does financial coaching and has authored a financial workbook, "Your Wealth Health Workbook". Fran was widowed in 1994, after her husband had been ill for several years. She had been married for 11-1/2 years and her son, now a junior at The George Washington University, was 8-1/2 years old. Fran, who is single, maintains a happy and fulfilled social life and lives in Northern New Jersey.
